What happens when you click on the calendar icon?
This page simulates your web site shopping cart.
You are instructed to enter a US zip code and then click on the calendar
icon to obtain delivery options
At the top of the calendar page that pops up you'll see that the date
and time for HST is displayed.
Below the current HST zone time you'll see the day and date of the "Next
Shipping Day."
There is an entire administrative section dedicated to giving the store
owner control over determining the next Shipping day.
You can designate any day you wish as a "Holiday" or non-ship day.
You can designate an individual product out of stock for a certain day or
range of dates.
You can set a cut off time so orders after a certain time will increment
the "Next Ship Day" calculation.
You are prompted to enter the zip code where delivery is to be made.
The "Our Next Ship Day is ..." calculation is performed
The next ship date and zip code are posted to the FedEx Ship Manager API
to obtain FedEx's available services and delivery commitments which are
color code on the calendar and listed in the legend on the right of the
calendar.
Any required additional costs for upgraded services are listed
Click on the desired delivery date, the required service upgrade, if
any, and the Submit button. The desired delivery date, the selected
service and the additional cost are integrated back into the product
display page
The zip code is stored in memory for later comparison to the zip code
in the recipient address to assure data integrity.
